The uniquely talented artist Su Blackwell is auctioning an incredible paper sculpture ‘The White House’ on eBay, with the proceeds from the sale kindly being donated to Epilepsy Research UK.
Su predominantly works in the medium of paper, creating beautiful and intricate sculptures which are exhibited all around the world. Her work is in no way limited to paper sculptures; Su’s other interests includes, writing, illustration, fabric design, theatre set-designing and art-direction for commercials.
Su found some time in her busy schedule to answer a few questions about her work and why she is supporting ERUK.
I studied at the Royal College of Art, and have been exhibiting and selling my paper-cut artwork in galleries and museums worldwide, for over fifteen years.
I’m known for creating intricate paper sculptures. My materials are simple – I use paper, cutting mat, scalpel and glue. I am always trying to develop my techniques and push the possibilities of humble paper.

My partner has epilepsy. Our lives are affected by it day-by-day. I feel there is still a lot not widely known about epilepsy, and it would be wonderful to find a cure. I am keen for more research into epilepsy, for this reason I am donating the sale of this piece to epilepsy research.
