Join #TeamERUK for the Great North Run

Each year, we’re lucky enough to have a team of dedicated supporters raising money for research at the world’s biggest half marathon: the Great North Run. We’re now on the hunt for more runners to join #TeamERUK for this iconic race (and after party!) this September.

The famous route starts in the shadows of Newcastle University and the Royal Victoria Infirmary – two of our funded research institutions – before taking runners over the Tyne Bridge, through Gateshead and into South Shields for a spectacular finish. Whether you have your own place or if you’re looking for a charity entry, we’d love to welcome you to #TeamERUK for this unmissable event!

As part of our Great North Run team, you’ll receive:

• a stylish high-quality Epilepsy Research UK running top
• regular support and advice from our dedicated events team
• lively cheer points along the course
• and a post-race party to celebrate with your family and friends

There’s just one week left to sign up for the first-ever #Brainathlon – a virtual walk, run and climb challenge in collaboration with our friends at Brain Research UK and Brain Tumour Research. Take part on your own or as a relay team of three and fund vital neuro research this month

Perhaps you’ve been inspired to do your own fundraiser for research? Why not dream up your very own #6forthe600 challenge to help support the 600 people in the UK diagnosed with epilepsy each week? Just choose an activity around the number 6, 60 or 600 – you could run 60km over 6 days, bake and sell 6 different cakes, or do a sponsored silence for 60 hours.

If ever there was a time to support life changing, life saving research into epilepsy, it’s now.

As always, we’re here to discuss fundraising options whenever you want to talk to us. Whichever event takes your fancy, we’d love to have you as part of #TeamERUK!
