Rebekah Smith is a Trustee representing Institute Founding Partner Epilepsy Action.
Rebekah has been the CEO of Epilepsy Action since 2025, having previously led a major organisational change programme and the development of an ambitious new strategy as Deputy CEO. She came to health charity sector after 10 years in Students’ Unions as Deputy CEO at Leeds University and CEO at Huddersfield University. During this time, she was a founding trustee of Elliot’s Footprint, a Leeds-based charity supporting families with the sudden unexpected death of a child, and produced a report to demonstrate gaps in support services that has led to change. Previous board roles have included the National Union of Students and Foundation Housing, as well as committee roles with the Yorkshire Tourist Board and Chartered Institute of Marketing.
