Novel therapeutic targets to treat mTORopathies-related epilepsy, focusing on reducing seizure frequency and rescuing cognitive co-morbidities
Dr Amand Almacellas Barbanoj is a senior research fellow in the research department of epilepsy at UCL. Dr Almacellas Barbanoj has a specific research interest in novel therapeutic targets to treat mTORopathies-related epilepsy, focusing on reducing seizure frequency and rescuing cognitive co-morbidities. She has also researched into the characterisation of a mouse model for the SINO syndrome and working on the validation of the eKCNA1 gene therapy for treating FCD II related epilepsy. Dr Almacellas Barbanoj has worked in several collaborations in establishing contributions to the development of gene therapies for treating diverse kinds of childhood-onset refractory epilepsies.
