I’m a pathologist interested in how human brains develop and in how DNA is stored in nuclei. Severe, treatment-resistant forms of epilepsy are seen when genes that control DNA storage are mutated. My interests and research look at how DNA is stored in the cells of the developing brain, trying to uncover some of the fundamental mechanisms that connect these mutations to the development of severe epilepsy.
I am incredibly grateful to the Epilepsy Research Institute and their fundraisers, as they have generously funded me with the Medical Research Council to pursue a PhD on my research interests. I am excited to share my findings at future conferences over the year and in my future plans to continue this work at a post-doctoral level!
