Summary

Join us for the first webinar in the Epilepsy Research Institute Technology Readiness & Research Connections series as we explore how Optically Pumped Magnetometer Magnetoencephalography (OPM-MEG) is transforming functional brain imaging and creating new opportunities for epilepsy research.

Details

Join us at 16:00 on Tuesday 13 October for the first webinar in our Epilepsy Research Institute Technology Readiness & Research Connections series, where we will be joined by Prof. Matt Brookes (University of Nottingham) and Dr. Elizabeth Moody-Davenport (UT Southwestern). Prof. Brookes will provide a technical overview of OPM-MEG, including the development of multi-modal functional brain imaging approaches and how OPM-MEG compares with conventional neuroimaging and neurophysiology technologies. Dr. Moody-Davenport will then present a case-study perspective on how OPM-MEG may be used clinically, both in epilepsy and across other neurological disorders, highlighting the opportunities and challenges for real-world translation and adoption.

Together, these talks will provide a balanced view of the technology, its current capabilities, and its potential role in future epilepsy research and clinical practice. As with all webinars in this Epilepsy Research Institute Technology Readiness & Research Connections series, attendees will gain access to practical resources, including a webinar recording, expert signposting, and a Technology Readiness Brief summarising key take-home messages and future opportunities for collaboration.
