Long standing supporters Rob and Eve Scott recently climbed Kilimanjaro to raise funds for Epilepsy Research UK.
Eve says of the trip,
‘Rob and Eve Scott have a bucket list as long as your arm; Kilimanjaro crept to the summit, and so did we to Kilmanjaro summit….. We have climbed at altitude before, but that extra couple of thousand feet had a draining effect; we did do it ‘clean’ though, no Diamox or other medicinal remedies!
Once we had booked the trip, it seemed a shame not to use it as a money raising opportunity, so Rob opened an online giving page. Would we recommend it? of course we would. The scenery is AAA-mazing and the sense of achievement is worth everything.’
Rob added;
‘Took 7 days and 6 nights under canvas; the last 1200m took 9 hours (2m per min). Very cold. Wearing 4 body layers, 2 leg layers, 2 pairs of socks, 2 pairs of gloves, a neck warmer, balaclava and a silly woolen lined hat. Still cold! ‘
