Oli’s Pier to Pier cycle challenge

Oli Goldsmith is no stranger to fundraising for Epilepsy Research UK, after having previously run half marathons and the London Marathon in 2018. This year Oli chose to take on an epic Pier to Pier cycle challenge to raise money in memory of his sister Faye, who sadly passed away from epilepsy in 2016 at the age of 25.

On August 14th, Oli and the Velo Grupetto cycling team set off from the pier in their hometown of Bournemouth and aimed to cover the 100 mile to Brighton Pier, all in a single day. Oli said, “I am so proud and overwhelmed by the amount raised, people have been so so generous. Too many lives are still being effected by epilepsy, whether that be the people living with the condition or the people who support them. The day of the challenge was a long one, especially the last 20 miles, but it felt like a fantastic achievement and I’m so happy to have completed it with my Dad and my best mates and to have raised so much. We can’t wait for the next one!”
