Our beautiful daughter, Helen, died suddenly at the age of 18. Her death was described as Sudden Death In Epilepsy (SUDEP). We had never heard of it.
She had been at University just six weeks, studying her dream course, British Politics and Legislative Studies.
She was happy. She said, “It’s great here, Mum. I can be me!”
Helen had been diagnosed with Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy at the age of 13. She was a bright and determined young woman. She played the violin and piano, loved Disney, especially Eeyore and Dopey, was a passionate follower of Formula One racing and a committed Christian.
Helen is missed every day, especially by her Mum, Dad and sister Jenny, who lives with the same form of epilepsy.
