Dr Ilaria Belluomo
the analysis of volatile organic compounds in human breath as non-invasive diagnostic and monitoring technique for neurological disorders
Dr Ilaria Belluomo is a research fellow in the department of surgery and cancer at Imperial College London. Dr Belluomo is currently leads in two clinical trials: the VIBES (Volatile non-Invasive Biomarkers for Epileptic Seizures) study, in collaboration with UCL aimed at developing a non-invasive test for epilepsy diagnosis and prediction of seizures; and the PANORAMA (Parkinson’s Non-Invasive Volatile Organic Compound Analysis and Microbiome Assessment) for the development of a non-invasive diagnostic test for analytical methods for measuring volatile organic compounds in the human exhaled breath.
