Reporting progress
We require an annual and final report on the progress of your grant. We request annual and final reports in May/June each year – we will contact you to share our progress report form and the deadline for returning it.
Annual and final reports should detail progress adequately and we may ask for more information before accepting a report. The reports are also reviewed by our Scientific Advisory Committee, who may request additional information or that certain actions are taken. We will follow up with you individually about this, if required.
Please note that the final invoice will not be paid until receipt and approval of the final report.
You must acknowledge the Epilepsy Research Institute in all publications arising from the awarded grant and provide copies of these publications.
Measuring impact
As well as progress reports, we also use Researchfish to collect information on the research activities undertaken by our grant holders. On an annual basis, you’ll be asked to submit data about your outputs, outcomes, and impacts of your Epilepsy Research Institute-funded research, both while it is active and for a number of years after the funding has ended.
The benefits of using Researchfish are:
Reporting your progress and impact is crucial for us to understand how our funding is benefiting you, the field, and people affected by epilepsy. While breakthroughs take time, we want to capture shorter-term progress, such as publications, new methods, engagement activities, collaborations, career advancements, additional funding, policy influences, and clinical impacts of your research.
Our supporters raise funds to make our research possible, so it is essential that we can update them about the progress and impact of our research.
Our External Affairs team is here to help bring your research closer to people affected by epilepsy and the public. We can share your latest news and help to raise the profile of your research through the media, our website, newsletters, and social media.
You must let us know ahead of time if you have research you are about to publish. This will allow us to consider the best way to disseminate your work and give us time to prepare communications, including press releases if relevant. Please do not wait for your annual report to let us know.
If you have begun working with your institution’s press office to publicise your research, please also let us know as early as possible.
If you have current funding, you can use our logo on websites, presentations, paperwork, and promotional materials. Contact us for a high-quality version of the logo or slide templates.
