We’ve worked with many academics and clinicians to accelerate progress in epilepsy research. By including us as a co-applicant or collaborator, you can strengthen your proposal and access tailored expertise throughout your project. We can support you through:

• Collaboration on funding applications, including partnership as a co-applicant and providing access to specialist skills, expertise and knowledge on epilepsy and its associated conditions
• Experienced coordination, dedicated project management and delivery support for collaborative research projects or programmes
• Expert support planning, delivering and facilitating meaningful patient and public involvement (PPI), including access to our Shape Network – the UK’s largest network of research-interested people affected by epilepsy

We partner with universities and academic institutions to deliver high-quality epilepsy research, strengthen research capacity and support the development of researchers. We are open to exploring new opportunities and welcome discussion around:

• Partnering on large strategic funding applications, including the development of research centres that focus on accelerating epilepsy research (e.g., Medical Research Council (MRC) Centres of Research Excellence)
• Working alongside universities to establish Doctoral Training Centres that provide a comprehensive programme of training and support to develop the next generation of epilepsy researchers
• Contributing to research capacity-building, including work-based placements for undergraduate and postgraduate students, enabling them to expand their expertise and gain meaningful exposure to the epilepsy research landscape

We partner with national and international charities to drive strategic investment into epilepsy and its associated conditions, and to raise awareness of their impact.

Charities can partner with us in a number of ways:

• Funding and co-funding research
• Developing tools and resources about epilepsy and its associated conditions
• Co-hosting in-person or virtual events to showcase new research and raise awareness
• Co-writing features and news pieces
• Supporting research through the translational pipeline to bridge the gap between scientific discovery and clinical application

We work with partners from pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries to radically advance the development of new treatments and technologies for epilepsy and its associated conditions.

As the central hub for the epilepsy research community, we connect industry partners with leading researchers, clinicians and people with lived experience to support high quality, patient-focused innovation that is for the benefit of people with epilepsy.
