Celebrating Farnell’s 20th Golf Day and VP Rob’s retirement!

Last week, we were delighted to join longterm supporters Farnell at their annual golf day in aid of Epilepsy Research UK. The team were celebrating the event’s 20th year – during which time they have raised over £190k – and are expecting to reach the remarkable milestone of £200k with this year’s event.

Two decades ago, the former CEO of electronics company Premier Farnell tragically lost his son to SUDEP at just 21 years old. The Farnell community responded with incredible compassion and support, which has continued through fundraising and awareness events for over 20 years.

We were thrilled to attend and be part of this fantastic event, which has become a staple in both the Farnell and Epilepsy Research UK calendars. This year was also extra special as Rob Rospedzihowski, Farnell’s Vice President of Sales, was celebrating his retirement. Rob has been the driving force behind the relationship with Epilepsy Research UK and has given so much time and energy to keeping epilepsy at the forefront of the company’s charitable efforts.

We would like to say a huge thank you to all those who’ve participated in and supported the event over the years, to the Farnell team, and especially Katie and Natalie, who worked so hard to make this year another success.

Maxine Smeaton, Epilepsy Research UK Chief Executive, said…

We know that research holds the key to better diagnosis, treatments and drugs that will reduce the risk of sudden death in young people. But we also know that without the support of incredible people like Rob and the team at Farnell, we won’t make the breakthroughs so urgently needed. We wish Rob all the very best in his retirement and look forward to staying in touch!
