Launching new ‘Epilepsy Research Institute Insights’ webinar series

WEBINAR: Building a thriving research ecosystem

Date: Tuesday 26th March, 12-1pm

Join us this Purple Day for the launch of our new ‘Epilepsy Research Institute Insights’ webinar series. We’ll hear from research experts and people with lived experience on the topic of capacity building the epilepsy research ecosystem.

The Institute’s mission is to radically advance research for the 1 in 100 people living withepilepsy. To do this, we need to build a thriving research ecosystem.

There are an estimated 600 researchers currently working in epilepsy in the UK – less than 10% of the 6,100 researchers working in dementia. With a stronger network of epilepsy researchers, we can secure greater investment to drive research into epilepsy forward.

In our first webinar as the Institute, we’ll be joined by fantastic guest speakers:

  • Epilepsy Research Institute Trustee Abbie Fearon will share her experiences of living with epilepsy and the important work the Institute is doing to strengthen the epilepsy research ecosystem.

  • The Institute’s Capacity Building theme leads, Professor Torsten Baldeweg, Dr Sukhvir Wright and Dr James Mitchell, will discuss the aims of this research programme, why it’s important and the current work of the Capacity Building research team.

The webinar will include a discussion panel so please submit any questions you may have.

PLUS… we’ll be sharing details of our forthcoming Early Career Researchers event in May.

The session is open to everyone, so whether you are researching epilepsy, living with the condition or just interested to learn more, we hope you can join us at midday this Purple Day – Tuesday 26th March.
